Wilderness Therapy I: Foundations of Nature-based Interventions

An overview for practitioners interested in providing nature-based interventions in outpatient mental health settings.

Snowy Lajoie in this three-hour virtual training exploring the foundations of wilderness therapy. Topics to be explored include current research on the benefits of nature-based interventions; co-creating a safe space in nature; mindfulness in nature; importance of reciprocity and relationship; where to do wilderness therapy; specific strategies for working with individuals and groups; and the basics of how to prepare oneself for working in wilderness spaces.
